Around the House

Today is the first day of "summer" for us. The girls last day of preschool was yesterday, which means I'm on my own the rest of the summer. We plan to spend days at the pool, the science center and just around the house. This morning was nice so I got out this sidewalk paint that I picked up yesterday at Target. It works just like chalk in that water rinses it right off, but its alot more fun than chalk! It kept the girls busy for a good 45 minutes this morning!

We had a pretty productive day. I got the yard mowed. The girls helped me wash the van and the jeep. I sprayed weeds. We took Chloe for a walk, and we made a visit to Jason and Kristie's to take them a couple of shade tents for Big Pig Fest Saturday! More on that later!

Mother's Day

Looks like I left out the Mother's Day post. We started the day with breakfast at Tex and Shirleys with Grandma Katherine and Jessica and Miles, headed home to get Hailey a nap then went to mom and dad's for a little bit. We all chipped in to get mom this outside rocker/glider she wanted. She was surprised! Grandma Lucie has a cookout every Mother's Day so we all headed up there to see everyone. It was a great day! Especially since William and the girls got me a massage from Balance Day Spa, which I used this past Wednesday. It was the girls' last day of preschool for summer and the last day to myself. :)

William's surprise 40th

I was actually able to pull of a surprise party for William. He turns 40 on June 3 but since every other weekend is busy last weekend was it. And he wasn't expecting it early.. It was great! My brother-in-law Josh was in charge of taking photos and I haven't gotten the CD from him yet, but here is one that was snapped with my camera after he and Jen left. This is most of the gang. Heather and Tripp had a babysitter for the party so Gavin is missing. Kristie had already taken her and Jason's kids home for the night to stay with a sitter so David and Maggie are missing as well. And Ryan and Melissa couldn't make it up from Wilmington due to a previous engagement. But most of the gang is here...the best friends any one could ask for. The party was great! I booked a live band that played country music and some rock. We had lots of food and a really good time!

Beaufort Trip May 2011

Last weekend we made the trek to Beaufort. I was asked to 2nd shoot a wedding so we all went down for the weekend and stayed at Aunt Carol's house. We LOVE it there. It's our favorite place in the world. On Friday morning we took the girls and Chloe out to Fort Macon for a bit. It was cloudy and a little chilly so there wasn't many people out on the beach. We let Chloe off her leash and she was so excited to run around. She loved playing frisbee on the beach. Saturday I worked the wedding while William kept the girls. Bless his heart...he didn't know what he was in for. But he handled it great and I'm thankful him so that I can live my dream of being a wedding photographer. Chloe

Chloe is the newest member of our family. We adopted her from a family who has had her since she was a puppy. A young man owned her and her sister and then joined the military and could no longer care for her. She is an 11 month old border collie. She was already house broken, crate trained and very well mannered when we got her. She LOVES to fetch a ball and frisbee and is just as gentle as can be. She recently made a trip with us to Beaufort for the weekend when I helped a friend shoot a wedding. She traveled great and adapted well to not being at home. She is wonderful with the girls and most of the time is my favorite 'round here! hehehe :)
